Warranty Policy
1. Introduction
INSUL8SA is committed to supplying quality insulation and building products sourced from reputable manufacturers.
Many of the products supplied by INSUL8SA are covered by manufacturer warranties. This policy explains how warranty claims are handled and outlines the responsibilities of both the manufacturer and the customer.
This policy should be read together with the INSUL8SA Terms & Conditions, Delivery Policy and Returns & Refund Policy.
Nothing contained in this policy limits any rights available to consumers under applicable South African law.
2. Manufacturer Warranties
Where a manufacturer provides a warranty for a product, that warranty remains subject to the manufacturer’s published terms and conditions.
Warranty periods, conditions and remedies vary between manufacturers and product types.
INSUL8SA will assist customers in submitting warranty claims where applicable but cannot alter or extend a manufacturer’s warranty.
3. What Is Covered
Subject to the relevant manufacturer’s terms and applicable law, warranty claims may be considered where a product has:
- a verified manufacturing defect;
- failed under normal use within the applicable warranty period; or
- been supplied with a manufacturing fault that affects its intended performance.
Each claim will be assessed on its own merits.
4. What Is Not Covered
Unless required by law, warranties generally do not cover damage resulting from:
- Incorrect installation.
- Incorrect storage.
- Exposure to rain or excessive moisture after delivery.
- Accidental damage.
- Impact damage.
- Crushing or bending.
- Improper transport after collection.
- Misuse or abuse.
- Alteration or modification of the product.
- Failure to follow manufacturer instructions.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Use outside the product’s intended application.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
- Inspecting products upon delivery.
- Storing products correctly.
- Following manufacturer handling recommendations.
- Ensuring products are installed using accepted building practices.
- Reporting any suspected defects promptly.
Failure to take reasonable care of products may affect warranty eligibility.
6. Warranty Claim Procedure
To submit a warranty claim, customers should provide:
- Order or invoice number.
- Description of the issue.
- Photographs where appropriate.
- Date of installation (if applicable).
- Details of the application in which the product was used.
Additional information may be requested where required by the manufacturer.
7. Inspection
INSUL8SA and/or the product manufacturer may inspect the product before approving a warranty claim.
Customers should not dispose of the product until the claim has been assessed unless otherwise instructed.
8. Warranty Remedies
Where a warranty claim is approved, the remedy may include:
- Repair.
- Replacement.
- Credit.
- Refund.
The appropriate remedy will depend on the manufacturer’s assessment, the nature of the defect and the requirements of applicable South African law.
9. Limitation of Warranty
INSUL8SA does not warrant that products are suitable for every application.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the selected product meets the requirements of their project.
Technical advice provided by INSUL8SA is offered in good faith based on the information supplied by the customer.
