Alububble Sisalation Foil – Advanced Reflective Roof Insulation
Alububble Sisalation Foil is one of South Africa’s leading reflective insulation products for metal roofs, tiled roofs, warehouses, factories, workshops and residential buildings. Unlike conventional foil insulation, Alububble Sisalation Foil incorporates a sealed polyethylene bubble core laminated with highly reflective foil, creating an effective radiant heat barrier that improves comfort throughout the year.
During the hot South African summer, a significant amount of heat enters a building through the roof. Alububble reflects much of this radiant heat before it reaches the ceiling cavity, helping to keep indoor temperatures cooler. During winter, the same reflective properties assist in reducing heat loss, making buildings more comfortable while lowering heating and cooling costs.
The enclosed air bubble layer also adds an extra level of thermal resistance compared with traditional reflective foil products. This additional insulating layer improves overall roof performance while maintaining a lightweight, flexible construction that is easy to handle during installation.
Available Alububble Sisalation Foil Options
Alububble White
Alububble White features a reflective aluminium surface on one side with a clean white polyethylene finish on the opposite side. The white underside provides an attractive appearance where the insulation remains visible, making it popular for homes, garages, workshops and commercial buildings with exposed roof structures.
Ideal for:
- Residential homes
- Garages
- Carports
- Office buildings
- Patio roofs
- Light commercial buildings
Alububble Black
Alububble Black offers identical thermal performance while providing a modern black finish underneath the roof. This option is often selected where exposed roof trusses form part of the building’s architectural design.
Ideal for:
- Modern residential homes
- Retail stores
- Restaurants
- Showrooms
- Entertainment areas
- Exposed roof applications
Alububble Double Sided
Double Sided Alububble is manufactured with reflective foil laminated to both sides of the bubble core, allowing radiant heat to be reflected from either direction. This version is particularly suited to industrial buildings where maximum thermal performance is required.
Ideal for:
- Warehouses
- Factories
- Workshops
- Agricultural buildings
- Large industrial roofs
- Commercial developments
It is the preferred solution for projects where extreme summer temperatures create excessive roof heat build-up.
Benefits of Alububble Sisalation Foil
Choosing Alububble provides numerous long-term advantages:
- Reflects radiant roof heat
- Helps reduce indoor temperatures during summer
- Improves winter comfort
- Reduces energy consumption
- Acts as an effective vapour barrier
- Helps minimise condensation beneath metal roofs
- Lightweight and easy to install
- Fibre-free and non-toxic
- Does not attract rodents
- Will not support mould growth
- UV-resistant construction
- Long service life
- Low maintenance
- Suitable for residential, commercial and industrial applications
- Complements bulk insulation products such as Aerolite, Knauf and Factorylite for even greater thermal performance.
How Alububble Sisalation Foil Works
Alububble works by reflecting radiant energy rather than absorbing it. The reflective foil surface returns a large portion of solar radiation back towards the roof covering before it enters the ceiling space.
The sealed air bubble core then provides an additional insulating layer by slowing conductive heat transfer.
This combination creates a more comfortable indoor environment while reducing the load placed on air-conditioning and heating systems.
Perfect for South African Conditions
South African buildings are exposed to high solar radiation for much of the year. Metal roofing, in particular, can become extremely hot during summer.
Installing Alububble Sisalation Foil beneath the roof sheeting helps reduce roof-space temperatures while providing valuable moisture protection during colder months when condensation may develop.
Ideal Applications
Alububble is suitable for:
- Houses
- Townhouses
- Apartment buildings
- Warehouses
- Factories
- Agricultural sheds
- Workshops
- Shopping centres
- Schools
- Churches
- Retail stores
- Carports
- Patio roofs
- Industrial facilities
Installation
Alububble is generally installed beneath roof sheeting and above purlins or roof trusses.
For steel roof structures, installation normally uses PVC-coated straining wire together with double-sided tape to secure and seal overlaps. Timber roof structures generally do not require the support wire system. Correct installation ensures the reflective air spaces required for optimum thermal performance are maintained.
