7. Website Information, Product Specifications and Technical Advice
7.1 Website Information
INSUL8SA makes every reasonable effort to ensure that all information published on this website is accurate, current and useful.
Despite our best efforts, occasional errors may occur relating to pricing, product descriptions, specifications, photographs, availability or technical information.
INSUL8SA reserves the right to correct any errors, omissions or inaccuracies at any time without prior notice.
Publication of information on this website does not constitute a legally binding offer to supply any product.
7.2 Product Specifications
Product specifications published on this website are based on information supplied by manufacturers at the time of publication.
Manufacturers may change product specifications, packaging, branding, dimensions, colours or product appearance without prior notice.
INSUL8SA reserves the right to update product information whenever new manufacturer information becomes available.
Minor differences in packaging, appearance or branding shall not be regarded as product defects provided the supplied product meets the applicable technical specifications.
7.3 Product Images
Product photographs are intended for illustrative purposes only.
Actual products, packaging, colours and labelling may differ from the images displayed on the website due to manufacturer updates, production changes or screen display variations.
Such differences do not affect the intended performance of the product and do not constitute grounds for cancellation, return or refund.
7.4 Product Availability
All products are offered subject to availability.
Stock levels displayed on the website are estimates only and may change without notice.
Where products become unavailable after an order has been placed, INSUL8SA may:
- offer a suitable alternative product;
- advise the customer of revised lead times;
- partially fulfil the order where appropriate; or
- provide a refund for unavailable items where applicable.
INSUL8SA shall not be liable for losses arising from supplier shortages or manufacturer production delays.
7.5 Technical Advice
INSUL8SA has extensive experience in the insulation industry and is committed to providing customers with practical and accurate technical guidance.
Any advice, recommendations or calculations provided by INSUL8SA are based on the information supplied by the customer and the information available at the time.
Technical advice is offered in good faith to assist customers in selecting suitable products.
Customers remain responsible for ensuring that products are appropriate for their intended application and comply with all relevant building regulations, engineering requirements and project specifications.
Where uncertainty exists, customers are encouraged to obtain professional advice before purchasing or installing products.
7.6 Product Selection
Selecting the correct insulation product depends on several factors, including:
- the type of building;
- roof construction;
- ceiling design;
- environmental conditions;
- required thermal performance;
- acoustic performance;
- fire performance;
- moisture exposure;
- budget considerations.
INSUL8SA will gladly assist customers in selecting suitable products; however, final product selection remains the responsibility of the customer unless a written specification or formal site assessment has been provided by INSUL8SA.
7.7 Measurements and Quantities
Customers are responsible for confirming all dimensions, quantities and measurements before placing an order.
Material estimates supplied by INSUL8SA are based solely on the information provided by the customer unless a site measurement has been conducted by INSUL8SA.
INSUL8SA accepts no responsibility for shortages, excess quantities or additional costs resulting from incorrect measurements supplied by the customer or third parties.
Customers are encouraged to verify all measurements before ordering products.
8. Quotations, Pricing, Orders and Payments
8.1 Quotations
All quotations issued by INSUL8SA are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time of preparation.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, quotations:
- are valid for the period stated on the quotation;
- are subject to stock availability;
- may be amended if supplier pricing changes;
- do not reserve stock; and
- do not constitute a binding agreement until accepted by INSUL8SA.
Where no validity period is specified, quotations shall remain valid for 7 calendar days from the date of issue.
8.2 Pricing
Every effort is made to ensure that prices displayed on the INSUL8SA website are accurate.
However, prices may change without prior notice due to:
- manufacturer price increases;
- exchange rate fluctuations;
- transport cost increases;
- supplier cost adjustments;
- administrative or typographical errors.
INSUL8SA reserves the right to correct pricing errors before an order is dispatched. If a significant pricing error is identified after an order is placed but before dispatch, the customer will be contacted and may choose to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund of any amounts already paid.
8.3 Product Availability
All products are supplied subject to availability.
Acceptance of an order does not guarantee that every item is immediately available for dispatch.
Where products are temporarily unavailable, INSUL8SA may:
- delay shipment until stock becomes available;
- offer an equivalent alternative;
- supply the available items first and the balance later; or
- refund unavailable items where appropriate.
8.4 Orders
Orders are considered received once they have been acknowledged by INSUL8SA.
INSUL8SA reserves the right to decline or cancel any order where:
- incorrect pricing has been published;
- products become unavailable;
- payment cannot be verified;
- fraud is suspected;
- delivery cannot reasonably be completed; or
- the order cannot be fulfilled for reasons beyond our reasonable control.
8.5 Payment
Accepted payment methods will be published on the INSUL8SA website and may change from time to time.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment must be received and cleared before products are dispatched.
Ownership of all goods remains with INSUL8SA until full payment has been received.
8.6 Deposits
Certain products or orders may require a deposit before procurement or manufacture.
This may include:
- special-order products;
- non-standard products;
- bulk commercial orders;
- custom-cut products; and
- products sourced specifically for a customer’s project.
Deposit requirements will be communicated before the order is confirmed.
8.7 Special-Order Products
Products ordered specifically for a customer, or sourced on request from a manufacturer or supplier, are regarded as special-order products.
Unless otherwise required by law, special-order products cannot be cancelled or returned after procurement has commenced, except where the products are defective or supplied incorrectly by INSUL8SA.
Customers are encouraged to carefully verify all specifications before confirming a special order.
8.8 Order Changes
Requests to amend an order after confirmation will be accommodated where reasonably possible.
If procurement, cutting, packing or dispatch has already commenced, additional costs may apply and certain changes may not be possible.
8.9 Cancellation of Orders
Customers wishing to cancel an order should contact INSUL8SA as soon as possible.
Cancellation requests received before procurement or dispatch may be accepted at the discretion of INSUL8SA.
Where costs have already been incurred, including supplier charges, transport bookings, custom cutting, packaging or handling, the customer may remain liable for those costs.
8.10 Bulk Orders
Large commercial or industrial orders may be supplied in multiple deliveries depending on manufacturing schedules, transport availability and stock levels.
Partial deliveries do not constitute a breach of contract where this has been communicated to the customer.
8.11 Commercial Customers
Business customers, contractors, developers and resellers are expected to verify product specifications, quantities and project requirements before placing an order.
Where products are purchased for commercial use, INSUL8SA’s liability remains subject to these Terms & Conditions and any separate written agreements between the parties.
9. Delivery, Transport, Inspection and Risk
9.1 Delivery Service
INSUL8SA supplies products throughout South Africa using a combination of our own vehicles, approved courier companies and specialised freight carriers.
Delivery methods are selected according to the size, weight, value and nature of the products ordered.
Certain oversized or fragile products may require specialised transport arrangements and longer delivery lead times.
9.2 Delivery Times
Estimated delivery times are provided as a guide only.
While every reasonable effort is made to meet estimated delivery dates, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of INSUL8SA, including but not limited to:
- Manufacturer production delays
- Supplier shortages
- Transport disruptions
- Weather conditions
- Road closures
- Vehicle breakdowns
- Industrial action
- Public holidays
- Force majeure events
INSUL8SA shall not be liable for losses arising from delivery delays outside our reasonable control.
9.3 Delivery Address
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information.
Incorrect addresses, restricted access or changes requested after dispatch may result in additional transport charges and delayed delivery.
9.4 Site Access
Customers must ensure that the delivery address is safely accessible for the vehicle required to transport the ordered products.
Where delivery cannot be completed because of restricted access, unsafe conditions or the absence of the customer or their authorised representative, additional delivery charges may apply.
9.5 Customer Inspection
Customers, or an authorised representative, should inspect all products immediately upon delivery before signing any delivery documentation.
The following should be checked:
- Correct quantities
- Correct products
- Visible transport damage
- Missing items
- Obvious packaging damage
Any visible shortages or damage should be noted on the delivery documentation and reported to INSUL8SA as soon as reasonably possible.
Failure to report visible damage before or shortly after accepting delivery may affect our ability to investigate or support a claim with the transport provider.
9.6 Bulky and Oversized Products
Certain products supplied by INSUL8SA require specialised transport because of their size or handling requirements.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Summit XPS Boards
- Isoboard Thermal Ceiling Boards
- Long-length insulation products
- Industrial insulation materials
- Oversized building products
Customers should ensure that suitable unloading facilities and adequate storage space are available before delivery.
Additional handling or transport costs arising from customer-related delays, failed deliveries or unsuitable site conditions may be charged to the customer.
9.7 Storage After Delivery
Once products have been accepted by the customer, they become the customer’s responsibility.
Customers should store products in accordance with good building practice and any manufacturer recommendations.
Products should be protected from:
- Rain
- Standing water
- Excessive moisture
- Direct sunlight where applicable
- Excessive heat
- Physical impact
- Crushing
- Chemical contamination
Damage caused after delivery by incorrect storage or handling is not regarded as a manufacturing defect.
9.8 Risk
Risk in the products passes to the customer once delivery has been completed and the goods have been accepted at the nominated delivery address.
Ownership of the goods remains with INSUL8SA until payment has been received in full.
9.9 Failed Deliveries
Where delivery cannot be completed because:
- no authorised person is available to receive the goods;
- site access is unavailable;
- the customer refuses delivery for reasons unrelated to product quality; or
- unloading cannot reasonably be completed,
the customer may be responsible for any additional transport, storage or redelivery costs incurred.
9.10 Collection by Customers
Where products are collected by the customer or a carrier appointed by the customer, responsibility for safe loading, transport and handling passes to the customer upon collection.
Customers should ensure that suitable vehicles, equipment and load restraints are used when transporting products.
INSUL8SA reserves the right to refuse loading where, in our reasonable opinion, the proposed method of transport is unsafe or unsuitable.
9.11 Product Care
Many insulation products are lightweight and durable when handled correctly but may be damaged by poor storage or incorrect handling.
Customers are encouraged to read the INSUL8SA Product Storage & Handling Guide before storing or installing products.
10. Returns, Refunds and Warranty
10.1 General
INSUL8SA is committed to supplying quality products and providing fair after-sales service.
Returns, refunds and warranty claims are handled in accordance with applicable South African legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act where it applies, together with the INSUL8SA Returns & Refund Policy and Warranty Policy.
10.2 Return Authorisation
No products may be returned without prior authorisation from INSUL8SA.
Customers requesting a return should contact INSUL8SA as soon as reasonably possible and provide:
- the original order or invoice number;
- a description of the issue;
- supporting photographs where applicable; and
- any other information reasonably required to assess the request.
Unauthorised returns may be refused.
10.3 Condition of Returned Goods
Approved returns must be received in their original condition, including:
- original packaging where reasonably possible;
- unused and uninstalled condition;
- free from customer damage;
- clean and dry.
Products that have been cut, modified, installed, contaminated, exposed to excessive moisture or otherwise altered after delivery may not qualify for return unless required by applicable law.
10.4 Customer Storage and Handling
Many insulation and building products require appropriate storage after delivery.
Returns will generally not be accepted where damage results from:
- incorrect storage;
- rain or moisture exposure after delivery;
- prolonged exposure to weather;
- crushing or impact damage;
- incorrect transport by the customer;
- misuse or negligence.
Such damage is not considered a manufacturing defect.
10.5 Bulky Products
Because many products supplied by INSUL8SA are oversized, fragile or expensive to transport, returns of bulky products require individual assessment.
This includes products such as:
- Summit XPS Boards;
- Isoboard Thermal Ceiling Boards;
- long-length insulation materials;
- industrial insulation products.
Where a return is approved, the customer may be responsible for the reasonable costs of collection, transport, inspection and restocking, unless the return is due to an error by INSUL8SA or a verified manufacturing defect.
10.6 Incorrect Orders
Customers are responsible for verifying product selection, specifications, dimensions, quantities and suitability before confirming an order.
INSUL8SA will gladly provide technical assistance before purchase; however, incorrect products ordered due to customer error may not qualify for return or may be subject to transport and restocking costs.
10.7 Special-Order Products
Products specially ordered, custom manufactured, custom cut or sourced specifically for a customer’s project are generally non-returnable unless:
- supplied incorrectly by INSUL8SA;
- damaged before delivery; or
- found to have a verified manufacturing defect.
Customers should carefully confirm all specifications before approving special orders.
10.8 Manufacturing Defects
Where a customer believes a product has a manufacturing defect, INSUL8SA may require:
- photographs;
- inspection of the product;
- return of samples where appropriate; or
- assessment by the manufacturer.
Replacement, repair or refund will be determined after the investigation has been completed and in accordance with applicable law and manufacturer warranty terms.
10.9 Warranty
Where applicable, products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
INSUL8SA does not provide additional warranties beyond those required by law or expressly confirmed in writing.
Warranty claims remain subject to manufacturer assessment where required.
10.10 Exclusions
To the extent permitted by law, warranties do not cover damage arising from:
- incorrect installation;
- misuse;
- abuse;
- accidental damage;
- customer modifications;
- incorrect storage;
- moisture exposure after delivery;
- failure to follow manufacturer instructions;
- normal wear and tear;
- use outside the product’s intended application.
10.11 Limitation of Liability
Subject to applicable South African law, INSUL8SA shall not be liable for indirect, consequential or economic losses arising from the use, installation, storage or handling of products supplied.
