Delivery Policy
1. Introduction
INSUL8SA is committed to delivering quality insulation and building products safely, efficiently and professionally throughout South Africa.
Because many of the products we supply are oversized, lightweight, fragile or require specialised transport, deliveries are managed differently from standard parcel courier services.
This Delivery Policy explains how deliveries are arranged, what customers can expect and the responsibilities of both INSUL8SA and the customer.
2. Delivery Areas
INSUL8SA delivers throughout South Africa.
Delivery availability, lead times and transport costs vary depending on:
- Delivery location
- Product size
- Order quantity
- Vehicle access
- Freight requirements
Some remote or outlying areas may require additional lead time or specialised transport arrangements.
3. Delivery Methods
Depending on the products ordered, deliveries may be completed using:
- INSUL8SA delivery vehicles
- National courier companies
- Specialised freight carriers
- Manufacturer direct deliveries
The delivery method will be selected according to the safest and most practical option for your order.
4. Estimated Delivery Times
Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Factors that may affect delivery include:
- Stock availability
- Supplier lead times
- Manufacturing schedules
- Weather conditions
- Public holidays
- Road closures
- Transport disruptions
- High seasonal demand
INSUL8SA will keep customers informed of significant delays whenever reasonably possible.
5. Delivery Charges
Delivery charges are calculated based on factors including:
- Delivery destination
- Product dimensions
- Weight
- Order value
- Transport requirements
Some oversized products may require dedicated transport or special handling, which may result in additional freight costs.
Any applicable delivery charges will be confirmed before the order is finalised.
6. Customer Responsibilities Before Delivery
To help ensure a successful delivery, customers should:
- Confirm the correct delivery address.
- Ensure suitable access for the delivery vehicle.
- Arrange for someone to receive the goods.
- Prepare a suitable storage area before delivery.
- Notify INSUL8SA of any site restrictions that could affect delivery.
Failure to provide accurate information may result in delays or additional transport costs.
7. Receiving Your Delivery
Upon delivery, customers or their authorised representative should inspect the goods before signing the delivery documentation.
Please check:
- Correct products supplied
- Correct quantities
- Visible transport damage
- Packaging condition
- Missing items
Any visible shortages or damage should be recorded on the delivery documentation and reported to INSUL8SA as soon as reasonably possible.
Signing for the goods confirms that the delivery has been received in apparent good condition unless damage or shortages have been noted.
8. Oversized and Bulky Products
Products such as:
- Summit XPS Boards
- Isoboard Thermal Ceiling Boards
- Long-length insulation products
- Industrial insulation materials
require careful handling due to their size and transport requirements.
Customers should ensure adequate unloading facilities and suitable storage are available before delivery.
Additional transport costs resulting from failed deliveries, restricted access or customer delays may be charged.
9. Storage After Delivery
Once products have been delivered, customers are responsible for storing them correctly.
Products should be stored:
- In a clean, dry location.
- Off the ground where practical.
- Protected from rain and standing water.
- Protected from physical damage.
- In accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
Damage caused after delivery through incorrect storage or handling is not covered by warranty or the returns policy.
10. Failed Deliveries
A delivery may be regarded as unsuccessful where:
- no authorised person is available to receive the goods;
- access is unavailable or unsafe;
- unloading cannot reasonably be completed; or
- delivery is refused for reasons unrelated to product quality.
Where this occurs, additional delivery, storage or redelivery charges may apply.
11. Collection by Customers
Customers collecting products are responsible for ensuring that suitable vehicles and equipment are used.
Products should be transported safely and adequately secured.
INSUL8SA reserves the right to refuse loading where a vehicle or loading method is considered unsafe.
12. Questions?
If you have any questions about delivery arrangements, freight costs or site access requirements, please contact the INSUL8SA team before placing your order.
We are happy to assist in planning deliveries for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
